In Exodus 14, the Israelites experienced their first major challenge after being liberated from the Egyptians. Cornered between the Red Sea and the world’s most powerful army, they were uncertain where to go or what to do. In this defining moment the Lord told Moses, “speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:” Between the ages of fifteen and twenty-five you will face many defining moments in life. How you respond in these critical moments will either help you go forward or set you back. Whenever I hear somebody’s life story he often points to decisions made at this age which changed his whole life for good or bad.
After crossing the Red Sea, the Israelites spent forty years wandering the desert learning to Go Forward. Each time they pushed forward, Satan pushed back. Yet, the Lord was beside them, guiding them and meeting every need. If a spiritual decision is about to be made, you should expect push back from Satan. Unfortunately many young people have been cheated out of God’s best for their lives by Satan’s discouragement or enticement.
As we read the Bible, we realize the Lord’s vision for the Israelites was far greater than their own plans or vision. Each time conflict came, He led them forward to conquer their enemies enabling them to flourish in a land flowing with milk and honey. God has a big plan for each of his children. As we trust Him, we Go Forward to untold blessings.
By choosing to Go Forward, the Israelites became a testimony to the world of God’s power, provision, and promise. My prayer is for God to use this blog to encourage and equip you to Go Forward with His plan for you. If you find this blog helpful share it to help others Go Forward.
